So yesterday one of the big boxes that frequents our house from Umma in Korea contained a Korean cookbook. This is a very welcome addition to our family because I feel like I now live with four Koreans because J and Banana can pack down just as much kimchi as JonJon and Oony. The funny part was when we open the cookbook and the author describes this book as being written for the immigrant bride who has to cook for the Korean in-laws.
So we opened the book and picked out two recipes for the week. I am planning to try to make all the recipes before the boys go home for the summer. Although we might skip some of the weird ones like stir-fry dried squid EWWWH
This cookbook is very interesting. Clearly written by a man but far better than looking for recipes on-line. Written by a man meaning the ingredients are listed up top but then as you are reading the instructions down below you will find he is adding something else that was not listed up top. Dinner was ok and I have written down some side notes for making it better next time. The recipe does not say how many it serves or how much meat they are using so I sort of have to guess.....all fun though :) Here is to my own version of Julia and Julia :)
