I finally made it to Disney

Disney Trip Day 1

We woke up Saturday morning to find snow.  I was hoping it would not cause delays for our plane but with a quick check on the computer everything appeared to be on time so we packed up our bags and headed to the airport.

It was all very exciting and I didn't really feel that paniced about flying until right about the time we left the terminal and stepped into that hallway thing that leads into the plane.  Then it sort of hit me that I was flying, I was afraid to fly and as I walked up the asile of the plane scanned for all possible terrorist suspects....on saw about 3 people I thought looked questionable and then quickly found my seat and of course all the boys wanted to sit next to each other so that left Carrot and I to sit with the stranger.  He was very plesant and maybe sitting next to the stranger helped my anxienty.  We landed with no problems and I was event looking out the window at the ocean by the last 15 minutes of the plane ride.

We arrived at our hotel Port Orleans Riveside late afternoon.  It was so beautiful! It was still a bit chilly but the grass and trees were so green it was such a nice change from what we were used to.  We had reservations to eat with Chef Mickey that night but couldn't help springing for one extra days worth of tickets and going into the park a little early.

We hopped the bus and arrived at magic kingdom and had almost an hour to enjoy before we needed to go to dinner.  Carrot was just in awe.  We all were really when we saw the castle and just waled down Main Street USA taking it all in.
Dinner with Chef Mickey was fun.  We hopped the tram (which is the way to go - we migh even spring for one of the higher end hotels next time just for that convience)  and the tram pulls right up into the Contemorary resort.  Pretty cool!  We took the escalator down stairs and where there at dinner and enjoyed seeing a lot of the characters for the first time.

After dinner we headed back to magic kingdom for the electric parade.  Disney does not disapoint when it comes to parades and firework shows that is for sure.  Carrot's face during that first night was worth every penny that trip cost.  She just couldn't take it all in.

I
It really was quite magical and I even got a little tear in my eye when one of cinderella's little mice all lit up in a beautiful dress came over and bent down and rubbed noses with Carrot.

Carrot Lost her Tooth

Carrot finally lost her tooth.  We were having a "girls night" which always means watching White Christmas while dad and Banana are not home.  This normally falls on Wednesday night while Banana is at Dude's Club.  So Carrot got an apple and started munching away. I wiggled the tooth a little there and there but it didn't seem ready yet then she took a big bite right up front and said "ouch my tooth". When I looked in it was permanently sideways so I said get me a tissue and with one quick tug it was out. She rushed up and put the tooth into my old tooth fairy pillow that my mom made for me and Bing Crosby took back seat to the excitement of the tooth fairy coming.  She went to bed and was five dollars richer the next morning.

Crazy Week

We got home from Disney last Thursday and I have been meaning to blog about our trip ever since but it has been a crazy week.

We got home from Disney around midnight last Thursday.  Then we needed to be in Washington D.C. for our first adoption interview on Friday at 10:30.  That pretty much took all day and then home to try to tackle a some laundry of which I think ended up being about 12 loads and trying to get JonJon a decent birthday dinner together.   J made steaks on the grill and we had an ice-cream cake.  Not too bad for last minute. Saturday I needed to attend a daycare class that was also all day that was lots of fun then Sunday was spent in church, food shopping and off to Lancaster to get Pepper from Aunt Suzannah.  Then back to prepare for a daycare day with extra kids on Monday since there was no school.

Whoo I am tired just recapping.  All that is probably what let me to be run down and get the stomach bug this week but here we are at the end of the week and the house is clean and sanitized and everything is well in order.  Much of that is due to the fact that most of the daycare kids also got the stomach virus so I had a good part of my day free to run around and get stuff done and caught up.
I think I will save it for a separate post and sort of blog each day along with a few pictures.

Plane ride!

CAN YOU BELIEVE I AM GETTING ON AN AIRPLANE?????  We are leaving for Disney this week.......YEAH so excited!!!  This has been a trip I have been asking and hoping to take for such a long time.  The only draw back for me is the plane ride.  Yes, I HATE to fly.  I totally know the flying vs. driving statistics but that is not enough to curb that flying anxiety for me.  This should however be a very good "baby step" in flying for me before our long flight to Korea.

I have been pouring over the insider tip book I have for Disney and feel like I have a pretty good handle on our trip but still have no idea what to expect.  I do think it is going to be MAGICAL and am super excited to see my little girl light up at the sight of a princess, and my little boys face on the Tower of Terror, and our big boys dilemma on if he can set his foot on the tower of terror or not LOL.

JonJon is going to be coming with us on our vacation but Ooney is not.   When we planned the trip in early fall we had only had JonJon and Ooney with us for a short time and when we told them they were welcome to join us and JonJon was able and ooney was not it was not as sad as it is now that they are so much part of our family.  I feel like I'm leaving one of my kids behind while I go on vacation. I have spent hours on-line and on the phone with Disney looking at every different hotel/package for adding him and us trying to covering the cost but no matter what way I look at this trip it is going to be an easy $1000 dollars to add a 6th person and we just are not sure how we could swing that with enormous cost of the adoption upon us right now.

So I am super excited but feeling a little melancholy at the same time.  I hope Onney is able to have fun with this friend next week.

So this may be my last post until after Disney unless we loose a tooth before then.  I think Carrot is holding out on loosing that tooth for Disney - maybe Tinker Bell is the tooth fairy there :)

Carrot has a loose tooth

So little carrot has a loose tooth. She pulled my tooth fairy pillow out at the first little budge of the tooth and is quite sad it is taking so many days to come out. She is eating an apple as I blog this to try to pull it out.

Loosing that first tooth is a little bit of a sad event for me. They seem like such big kids with the teeth out. I remember really being in loose tooth denial with Banana. His first tooth came out in kindergarten as well and I felt like he was way to small to loose a tooth. I felt like it should at least not happen until 2nd grade or so.

Carrot has instructed me that I can not send her carrots in her lunch any more. They are just too hard to eat :) I figured I could humor this excuses for a time and give her some carrot reprieve.
