We didn't catch a leprechaun

We didn't catch a real leprechaun but he left us some presents.  Carrot and daddy built a really nice leprechaun trap complete with a gold coin attached to fishing string and taped to the floor.  The plan was when the leprechaun went to pick up the gold coin it would pull on the fishing line which was holding up a box and we would trap ourselves a leprechaun.  The thing is leprechauns are so fast and tricky.  He took daddy's gold coin and left a taunting note telling Carrot she could not be able to catch him but instead he was going to leave her a leprechaun friend and a pot of gold.

He was up to some mischief as well.  When Carrot went to use the bathroom our toilet water had been turned green and our milk was green as well.

Orange stars, yella moons, blue diamonds.....what are we going to do!

Spring has sprung

Crazy the water was freezing

Look at those legs ;)

Spring has finally sprung and my crazy boys felt the need to go wading!

Yestarday was a beautiful March day so we loaded up the bikes and went for a bike ride. It was awesome. I couldn't believe how well Carrot did on her two wheeler. We biked down some pretty fast hills and probably bike a few miles and she made it almost the whole way.

It was a good afternoon and I am really looking forward to this upcoming spring and summer!

Leprechaun....leprechauns and more leprechauns

It is St. Patrick's Day next week and we are all about the Leprechauns here.  Carrot came home from school one day telling me all about leprechauns.  I ask her where she gained this leprechaun knowledge and she said from Evan one the school bus (also another kindergartner) :)

It started with, "mom can you look up what leprechauns eat, what they like, what they look like".  It was then followed by leprechaun trap making which I think included emptying a whole box of tissues and using up most of my scotch tape.

I eventually cleaned up he mess of the trap that was complete with a bowl of lucky charms and some pennies as bait.  I thought we were done with all this leprechaun trap making but then Jeff told me that he bought a small leprechaun stuffed toy and some other things to put into her trap.

So I decided to embrace the fun and I found this cool little idea on-line.  I think we will work on this this weekend and let daddy have his fun as well.

Yard sales are so much work

I am organizing our community yard sale.  Why do I punish myself like this.  It is really so much work to sort and wash and clean out the house.  I'm hoping I make enough money for it to be worth it :)

It is a little said when you pull out the kids clothes that they have outgrown.  You instantly remember back to when they were that age and it seems like just a blink ago.

Carrot is planning to have a lemonade stand and maybe put my keurig coffee maker outside to sell coffee as well LOL  This should be interesting.  Maybe I will even help her out and get her some donuts or something.

Now just praying it is a nice warm day!

The Sugar Creek Gang and the Swamp Robber

Who'da thunk - The simple choices you make as a mom (or a mom lead by Jesus) while at the library to pick a smile book for your child to read can make such an impact.

Last night Banana was getting a shower and I was brushing my teeth and he said, "Hey mom, when did you ask Jesus into your hear"?  I was starting my life long well I was three, I don't really remember it exactly but I think you accept Jesus along your life as you mature.....speech.  Banana politely listened and then said.  Well you know how I always ask Jesus into my heart like every night I pray....I didn't really mean all that but a few weeks ago I ask him into my heart for real.

I was a little speechless I must say.  I ask him what made him ask Jesus into his heart "for real" and he said, "oh it was that book you got me from the library - the Sugar Creek Gang and the Swamp Robber".  So we talked a little more about the book and the lessons he learned from it and how it prompted his heart to really see the need for Jesus.   It was great!

I totally know it is not that "I" picked the book that day.  I get it was Jesus but it is all so amazing how this Christian life works isn't it?  I didn't have any idea when I picked that book up it would prompt his heart to call out mercy but God did.....and that is so special!

So Sad to say goodbye

Our last day we decided to go back to Magic Kingdom for the day until we needed to leave for our plane.  It was a lovely day.  The weather was perfect.  We didn't have any agenda so we just let the kids pick one ride they wanted to do most so we go a fast pass for Space Mountain and then just rode anything that we felt like in between.  We stopped for some giant cinnamon buns which were great.  Visit Mickey's Phillharmagic again because it was one of dad's favorites and just enjoyed the day.  It was so hard to say goodbye.  We finished the day with some giant hot dogs, saw the end of a parade, had the kids portraits clipped as a souvenir from our trip.  I think if I take one more daycare kid we can go back every year :)

Animal Kingdom Day 5

Animal Kingdom was pretty neat.  We really enjoyed the Kali River rapids which I hope everyone was thankful for mom and the fact that she brought along cheap ponchos from Walmart.  We made this a short day because we were pretty tired and the kids really wanted to spend some time at the resort swimming so we enjoyed the safari, the river rapids and expedition Everest which JonJon stressed over going on most of the morning.  We finished up having some lunch at the Flame Tree BBQ and headed back to the pool for the afternoon.  We swam and rested then went back to Epcot for the water/firework show.

Now this is Flordia

Now this is what we came to Florida in February for.  Finally we have mid 80's and sunshine.  It was a beautiful day and one of our favorite days at Disney.  We really enjoyed the walking around all the different worlds and just enjoying the sights and the awesome day.
 The Lagoon around the Worlds
Photo opportunity with Belle in France
Lunch in Japan.  It was fun since we could use chopstick's better.

We thought Daddy was working but he fooled us and he was just talking to MomMom and PopPop
Awesome evening!  We finished the day off with dinner with the princesses in Norway.

One of my favorite of the kids!

This is how I found little carrot in the morning.  Not quite sure how she slept like that but she must have been tired :)
