So thankful that I was able to get to fun and fitness day even though only for a bit.  I loaded up the 3 daycare kids and we were off.  The baby was able to get to see his mama for a bit since I brought the baby carrier and the rest of us were off back and forth between Carrot and Banana's games trying to get pictures and watch them having fun.  I am looking forward to next year when I will not have a preschool run and I will be able to stay for the picnic lunch.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of closing my daycare for a much needed vacation day and going on Carrot's field trip to the zoo.  It was a perfect day.  Mid 70's and sunshine all day.  I had such a lovely time.

Beautiful Sunday

Last Sunday was a beautiful day.  We decided to go buy some kites and fly them in the yard.  It was going ok but we thought it would be much better to take them down by the bay and fly them there since there was bound to be more wind by the bay.  We had an early dinner and went on our way.  It was a fun hike but when we got to the cliff there was no wind....not even the tiniest bit.  It was still fun.  We climbed trees, hiked down from the cliff to the waters edge and skipped some rocks then hiked back to the car and home.  I felt very glad I got to spend the nice day with my kids.  Wished that daddy didn't have to do church work and to be present at the the serve that night so he could have joined us :(

Oh that old Home Depot

So there we were.....walking through the Home Depot going getting bolts and solar salt and a few other very exciting purchases and we walked by the counter top section and BAM.....just like that we purchased some new granite counter tops.  It was a good deal so we just went for it.  Little did we know the multiple extra steps of annoyance we would have to face just to get them installed......I will not bore you with the details as everyone knows it is never just a simple project. 

They are finished now though and I couldn't be happier with them.

I almost didn't get the under mount sink.  It was quite a bit more money and we do not have a standard size sink base so the non-standard sinks cost more, but I am so glad I did. 

I totally could not have imagined putting that yucky old sink and faucet back on the new granite. 

I also totally underestimated how much I would love just being able to wipe stuff right into the sink without it getting stuck on the lip of the old sink.  I made an apple pie the day after they were installed as I whipped that mess of flour and sugar crumbs right on in I thought how ever did I live before.
